How did I do in this trade/what to do now? WHIR

Postby Guido_BagDonnavich » Fri May 07, 2010 6:28 pm

10 Teams
Batting: H, AVG, HR, RBI, R, SB
Pitching: W, L, ERA, WHIP, K, SV

I gave: Carlos Gonzalez, Gio Gonzalez
I got: Nick Markakis, Chris Carpenter

I really like Gonzalez, but I thought this was a good chance for me to improve. I have a ton of good starting pitchers now, but I want to deal some for offense. I want to hold on to Hanson, but other than him I'm not sure who to shop. Any ideas?

C - Miguel Olivo
1B - Carlos Pena
2B - Gordon Beckham
SS - Mike Aviles
3B - Ryan Zimmerman
OF - Ryan Braun
OF - Justin Upton
OF - Carlos Gonzalez
Util - Billy Butler
Util - Raul Ibanez
Bn - Mike Stanton
DL - Kurt Suzuki
DL - Nelson Cruz

SP - Tommy Hanson
SP - Clayton Kershaw
P - Felix Hernandez
P - Chris Carpenter
RP - Shaun Marcum
RP - Tyler Clippard
Bn - Justin Verlander
Bn - John Lackey
Bn - Stephen Strasburg
Bn- Barry Zito

Leave me a link and I'll help you out too.

Thanks!

I think that you did well, but you did deal away a potential top 15 OF. However, you also gained one and Nick is still young that he has yet to reach his prime. Solid across the board deal for you man. Carpenter is a beast in any format as long as he remains healthy. Nice deal.

I really like CarGo, but Markakis is boringly great. His numbers don't wow you but he's always solid at the end of the year. I don't know if he'll improve much, but even if he doesn't, he's fine. Carpenter is a great addition, much better than Gio. I like the deal. Good job.

That's a fantastic trade for you. CarGo has a lot of sleeper love, and Markakis is often called over-rated, but that's largely due to their ADPs. They could very well be a wash in value, but Carpenter over Gio is not. Fantastic trade.
