Mondo trade offer - WHIR

Postby Chief Wahoo » Fri May 07, 2010 1:50 pm

I am in a 6x6 H2H league with the following categories. Hitting: Runs, RBIs, HRs, SBs, AVG, OPS. Pitching: Wins, Ks, saves, ERA, WHIP, quality starts.

Here is my roster:

C - Victor Martinez
1B - Justin Morneau
2B - Martin Prado
SS - Hanley Ramirez
3B - Adrian Beltre
OF - Nick Markakis
OF - Adam Jones
OF - Carlos Gonzalez
Util - Franklin Gutierrez
Util - Marlon Byrd
BN - Austin Jackson
BN - David Freese
DL - Kurt Suzuki

SP - Matt Garza
SP - Tommy Hanson
RP - Rafael Soriano
RP - Jon Rauch
p - Clay Buchholz
P - Phil Hughes
P - Brian Matusz
BN - Chad Billingsley
BN - Kevin Gregg
BN - Joe Blanton

My goal has been to upgrade Martin Prado at 2B and a fellow owner came out of left field with this offer.

I get: Adrian Gonzalez, Ian Kinsler, Clayton Kershaw, Billy Wagner
I give: Justin Morneau, Martin Prado, Matt Garza

I don't think I can take that hit to my pitching staff. The drop-off from Garza to Kershaw (at the moment) is just monstrous. Also, I'm not sure I like Gonzo over Morneau. What if I were to remove Billy Wagner because I don't want him anyhow and maybe bargain Matt Garza down to Phil Hughes? Thoughts? Thanks guys. Will help anyone that needs it in return.

Yeah Garza is tough to let go...He wouldn't do it if you replaced him with Hughes and let him keep Kershaw? Cause he's garbage

I would try to bargain with him on it.

Help me ?

thanks for mine.

this one's close, because i like the prado to kinsler upgrade, but i'd pass due the garza issues. see if he'll do buchholz, hughes or even try to play up matsuz's pre-season sleeper hype. one thing: if you're hoping for steals with kinsler and that's driving part of your reasoning, don't count on him swiping 30 bags. that ankle won't be 100% rest of season, even he admits.
