12-team 5x5 mixed keeper. I'm struggling in many SP categories, this guy could use another bat. He's offered me Cole Hamels for Vlad Guerrero. I could move Ibanez to UTIL, and hopefully Stanton will be up at some point fairly soon to give me some HR pop.
ARMS: Billingsley, Sanchez, Jaime Garcia, De la Rosa, & Strasburg waiting in the wings.
Seems like Vlad is one of your better HR/RBI bats right now ... would love to see if you could get something for Bay, but it would be a major sell low. Hamels is good return for Vlad, and you could use the arm, so I give this a reluctant "yes."
Vladdy will hit in Texas in that lineup, but Hamels has been tabbed a bounce-back guy virtually everywhere i've looked. he looked good on tuesday against the cards, and has 18 Ks in his last two turns, so i'd agree - do it.
the other thing is that you're in a keeper, so long term, i just don't see you keeping vladdy anyways. hamels on the other hand has keeper potential depending on how he pitches the rest of the year...

this is definitely part of my reasoning. vlad is nice in that tiny park & lineup, but hes no spring chicken, always a chance for a DL stint or two.
Absolutely do it. Hamels has looked really good in his last two turns and I feel we've seen the best of Vlad this season. You know he'll see a DL stint somewhere down the line.
I would do it. Your pitching needs DIRE help. try and do a trade for bay or someone as well. hamels has had some great outings against tough teams most recently st.louis cards. he could anchor your team along with another stud pitcher and you can probably make a good run
I like it. Yeah Vlad is hitting the ball right now, but with his health issues I am not sure he keeps it up all year. Could be wrong but to me its worth the risk. Take Hamels.
