The Cincinnati Post reports Cincinnati Reds SP Jose Acevedo has been impressive this spring. Acevedo has struck out 11 hitters while walking none in 11 innings. He has also allowed only eight hits while producing a 2.45 ERA.

I think he will have an impact, but keep in mind in does pitch in a field whose nickname is "Coors Light"

I'd be careful about Acevedo. He has looked brilliant at times this spring, and has been hit hard at others. He and the other Reds starters appear to have much better control than they have shown in the past, so he might be worth a gamble if your league is pretty deep.

I picked him up in an NL only league, but I don't think he necessarily deserves to be drafted in a mixed league. Rotochamps ranks him 23rd among starting pitchers??? That sounds way too high to me.

ESPN ranks him as the 114th SP. I think he's closer to that. While he may be a sleeper, I think there are at least 50 or 60 guys I would draft ahead of him no matter what the circumstance.
