Braun/Lidge for Jeter/Zobrist - WHIR

Postby jacktowner » Thu May 06, 2010 3:51 pm

I know Braun is my stud, but I need to catch up on some hitting stats in a bad way. I picked up Lidge after the draft, so I'm basically trading him my 1st rd pick for his 2nd and 4th rd picks. If I go through with it, I'll gain significant runs, rbis, and probably homers - and having two guys with good avg and ops will not hurt either. I have 4 closers and am only playing 3, which is why I'm giving up Lidge.

What do you think?

Leave a link, WHIR.

I rather the Braun side.

Zobrist is making it look like last year was a fluke, and Jeter isn't getting any younger.

He also has these players I could target - should I chase after a different pair?

He just sent me this offer:
Jeter/Zobrist for Braun/Jenks

Should I counter with Gonzalez/A.Rod for Braun/Jenks? Any recommendations?

I wouldn't trade Braun...your ARod/AGonz offer is better for you, but I'm still skeptical and I also can't imagine he'd accept that.

Just out of curiousity - if you're skeptical of the trade (on my part) and still favor Braun, then why can't you imagine that he would accept that trade?

Probably because Arod isn't looking good right now, and Braun is still a top 5 pick. But he probably wouldn't accept it because Arod was drafted a top 3 and Gonzalez isn't shabby himself.

I would also stay put with this. Unless you can get absolute no questions asked solid for Braun, don't trade him. He's a solid stud.

I turned down a Fielder for Braun trade today as well. Fielder is not shabby by any means, but I don't see the upside to trading for him straight up.
