How'd I do? WHIR

Postby Jenken » Thu May 06, 2010 8:23 am

I made a couple trades Tuesday, and can finally plug them into my lineup today,

I get: Valverde, Lidge, Lind, O.Hudson,P.Hughes,Dotel
I give: McCutchen,Jenks,Zobrist,Scherzer,E.Santana,

I am currently in last in saves, and my pitching has struggled. Also, my power has been lacking, so hopefully Lind helps me there. Speed is my main asset, as I am in first.

Lineup:
C-Wieters
1b-morales,loney
2b-hudson,beckham
3b-zimmerman
SS-andrus
OF-lind,braun,davis,bruce,Maybingranderson(dl)
P-Johnson,Garza,Cain,Hughes,Niemann,Cecil
RP-Valverde,Lidge,Dotel,Street(DL)

Also, is it worth making a claim on Jose Lopez?

Standard roto scoring.

thanks

I think you sold a little too low on Zobrist at this point, but I really like you getting Hughes, as I think he's going to end up with ace-like numbers this year. Plus Scherzer is awful and I don't think he'll turn it around enough to make him worth keeping.

yeah, i hear ya, i just worry that zobrist might have been a flash in the pan, not saying hes bad, but i dont know if he will reach lsat years numbers, and this was a prime time to buy-low on lind.

I think you did pretty well based on your teams needs. Lidge looked good the other night, and valverde has been lights out for detroit so far. Lind is very strong hitter and in the 3 hole for Toronto, so that should pay dividends. And good job getting rid of Scherzer and getting hughes in return.

help me out man?

thanks for the help

I think you did really well. Im not sold on Jenks as a closer, Valverde is an upgrade and Lidge has potential. McCutchen is really good, but idk if he keeps it up. Im not sold on Lind either, but he's a good buy low candidate while Hudson is a nice player to have. Santana has upside, but idk how strong he will finish, but Hughes i think is the best player of this bunch, i think he will have a huge year, and getting rid of Scherzer for him too is a steal. I don't think much of Dotel, but i think you could drop him and pick up someone with good value

You can't flat out win every trade and you have to give something to get something. You filled your needs accordingly so I like what you did. Lind is solid and you get some saves. Kind of sucks to sell low on Zobrist and lose McCutchen, but it's well done regardless.

Yeah, sucks to lose McCutchen. We'll see how Hughes rides out the year. Good job with the closers though. I've had enough of Scherzer as well. Overall not bad, filled the needs nicely.
