Kershaw/Zumaya for Rios/R. Soriano

Postby jpgretzky15 » Wed May 05, 2010 8:25 pm

I have been offered a trade in my 12 team 6x6 (obp and losses) KEEPER league. I would get Kershaw and Zumaya for Alex Rios and Rafael Soriano. I could use another pitcher (have Hamels, Gallardo, Brett Anderson, Jonathan sanchez, romero, Lilly). My offense is stacked (Pedroia, Howard, Prince, Hanley, just to name a few) but have few speed options other than Rios. I also did not pay for saves, Soriano is my best closer. I love Kershaw's upside in a keeper (can be kept for $22 next season). Should I buy low on him in this keeper league?

Lotta variables here, and i don't presume that Holds is a category, so Zumaya is a non factor in this trade (plenty of good setup men out there).

So you're talkin Rios and Soriano for Kershaw.

I'd like to see the rest of your staff, but my instinct on this one is that it's a no go. As much as i love Kershaw and his long term value (i have him in both my leagues...ouch on yesterday's start!) Rios is a great speed option with Power upside (knocked one tonight) and Soriano is a good RP to build on. You can't win Saves w/ one closer...so you either punt saves and probably steals and do this deal, or you try to go get yourself a real RP.

Good luck and please help with mine

Thanks...

My staff is Gallardo, Hamels, J. Sanchez, Lilly, Romero with B. Anderson on the DL, Strasburg in the minors, and Zambrano in purgatory. An up and down staff for sure. Kershaw is also inconsistent, not sure if he would help me as much as I hope.
