I get giddy thinking about the fact that he and Verlander are locked up long term. If Dombrowski puts all of the money coming off the books to good use this offseason, Detroit could run the AL Central. PLEASE GET CRAWFORD. :-L

I don't know how people can argue against Cabrera being a top 5 hitter in the game. He just hit another bomb today on the first pitch he has seen since Sunday (due to the birth of his daughter and the weird schedule). He's also never played in less than 157 games in a season and has raked every year since he was only 20 years old. I think this is finally his year to win MVP

also, in regards to the title of this thread, Cabrera won't be on the All Star team because Teixeira with his .210 AVG - and a lower OBP than MCab's AVG - is leading the voting. Youkilis is after Teixeira..

There's no way he won't find a way onto the squad. There are a such thing as snubs but if in some way he was not on the roster the term would be redefined.

I do think so. Its been said many time by many people that he has a new appreciation for the game and is working harder than he has ever in his entire career.

Also he's not getting hammered after the game with opposing players, coming home at 5am, getting into a physical altercation with his wife then getting picked up at the police station by his manager afterwards. That helps too.
