Am I Giving Up Too Much?

Postby rasto21585 » Tue May 04, 2010 2:58 pm

In my 20 team h2h dynasty league I was offered miguel cabrera and jaime garcia for bj upton cole hamels and jesus montero. On paper this looks like a steal but i don't know if my team will remain competitive after losing hamels. Also is it too much since i am including a stud prospect in jesus montero? What should I do?

Well u have a decent catcher already so its not as if u would be hurting yourself too terribly by dealing Montero. Id take Miggy over BJ and its not close and Garcis looks like hes gonna outpitch Hamels. In my opinion its worth it to take the Miggy side.

I agree with previous post. I think Garcia has a higher upside than Hamels at this point. I don't think Cole will live up to the optimistic hype he initially attracted. While Garcia will help you win this year and for years to come. Not to mention you are getting a proven Miguel Cabrera, who will be a top 5 firstbaseman for a couple more years at least.

I like the deal for you. Cabrera is excellent value in a dynasty and should be an offensive anchor in your infield for years. Garcia has a lot of upside as well. I'm not ready to completely give up on Hamels, but for Cabrera, that's a trade off I'd be willing to take. You lose a prospect, but Martin is still nothing to sneeze at in the C position, even with his current slump. I say take it.

Do you think this is a fair deal for both sides? My league is veto happy and I hope this trade will not get shutdown.

I think it is a trade in your favor, but its one of those things I would never veto. There is no reason not to give it a shot.
