Teixeira for BJ Upton (or Holliday) + Billy Butler? WHIR.

Postby bloc8888 » Mon May 03, 2010 4:24 pm

I'm in a 10-person, CBS points-based dynasty league.
We keep 22 each year (out of a roster of 32), so it's very very deep.
Scoring is: H=1, BB=1, 2B=1, 3b=2, HR=3, RBI=1, SB=1, R=1, CS=-1, KO=-1

I currently own Teixeira, and am debating giving him up for some combination of CI + outfielder ... I have been offered BJ Upton + Billy Butler for Teixeira. I like BJ, especially for a dynasty league, but am I giving up too much for Tex? I considered countering with Holliday + Butler for Tex... One concern -- we have no Util/DH spot, so if Butler becomes a DH and loses 1B eligibility a few years down the road, he becomes useless to me. The other guy also has Ian Stewart, and I bet I could get him to give me Stewart+BJ+Butler, for Tex+Cantu.

Thoughts?
I will help those in return... My team is below:

Teixeira, Mark 1B
Beckham, Gordon 2B

Thanks for the help on mine. For a guy like Tex I think you need to go for a 3 for 1 if you're looking to trade him. He is in his prime hitting wise plus he plays half his games in a hitters friendly park. I'd look to trade for a C+Cl+OF/1B. Your outfield situation is very good and is plus for your team. Although they are no top of the line starters they are very solid and relatively young.
