Cliff Lee for Webb, Kazmir, Friedrich

Postby sKooch » Mon May 03, 2010 3:31 pm

So I've dug myself a pretty deep hole in April, and may potentially be looking at building for 2011.

I've been offered Webb, Kazmir, and Friedrich for my C. Lee - interesting offer, and much of it depends on how Webb would bounce back. What do you think?

Is it Dynasty? Would you be allowed to keep all three of them? Which two players would you be dropping?

On the surface, I like the deal if you are ready to begin rebuilding for next year. If you want to win this year, you've got to keep Lee, I think.

Just my 2 cents.
I would keep Cliff Lee as 1) Kazmir should remain as always Kazmir (high risk for injury and limited innings), 2) Not sure if Webb will bounce back.

Thanks for your reply.

yeah, I'm assuming this is a keeper, right? Are you really ding that badly this year, where you already have to concede? Because admittedly, I don't know much about Friedrich, except he is a top prospect for the Rockies. And I agree ... almost all of it depends on Webb. Personally, I dont know how he's really doing .. shoulder surgery is no joke though. So, I'm probably not the most informed for this topic, but I think I'd pass. Too many risks and Lee is an animal.

Help me out man?

I am passing on this deal for sure.

First, it would stink to have to give up on the year already since its barely May. But more importantly this isn't the type of deal that would even be looking forward to the future. You're not getting young stud prospects in return (other than Friedrich who I don't know much about)

You are getting Kazmir who is what he is he won't throw many innings and will look good at times and get shelled most of the other times. And you are getting Webb a guy who is progressing so slowly back from surgery its awful.

No you should be able to trade Lee for a lot more value.

I have Kazmir and Lee myself. I agree kazmir is high risk and high reward. Cliff Lee is very consistent and if your league rewards wins and quality starts he's good for both.

Plus Cliff Lee is not going to be in Seattle passed this year. If this is a keeper league imagine him playing for a contender next year?

If you want to trade Lee I would try and get a bats for him.

Please help me out with my Cliff Lee trade:

Thanks for the help on mine. I would pass on this deal, as we don't really know anything about how effective Webb will be when he comes back. Shoulder injuries are tricky, recover is much more difficult than it would be for an elbow.

I'd pass. Bird in hand type of thing.

You would be giving up a guaranteed top 20 starter on a contender next year for Webb who looks ike he is going to miss a 2nd straight year, Kazmir who is marginal, and a prospect. I don't see the sense in this.
