i wouldn't do it... Liriano could be "back" finally from TJ ... i really like Mauer, but i think his power last year was a little flukish... he is still a great C (high avg and some HR).. but IMO a C isnt worth an elite SP (just my opinion though)

I would do it based on your keeper situation. Even if Liriano is back, you already have Carpenter and Haren and there is no way with your roster you would keep 3 pitchers.

This trade means you start next year with Utley, Tulo, Mauer and Sizemore(probably) plus Carpenter and Haren.

I like that. I know its still way to early to be looking towards next year, but I dont see this hurting your team now and it will only make you better long term.

To be honest Mauer's injuries are definitely a concern but he is still the best C in the game.

Your keepers without trade: Utley, Tulo, Reynolds, Sizemore, Haren, Bruce
Your keepers with trade: Mauer, Utley, Tulo, Reynolds, Sizemore, Haren

It is tempting to get Mauer, but I would not do it. Olivo is a suitable replacement, and could hit for more power than Mauer. Liriano appears to be an ace once again, and Bruce is a favorite breakout/upside pick of mine. I see your team losing this deal, for this year, by a wide margin. You are taking a significant downgrade at SP, losing a great upside OF, all in the name of upgrading your C.
The way I look at it, you are downgrading for this year, with a slight possible upgrade in seasons to come (with you keeping Mauer). The downgrade in next years draft is enough to make this trade too much to give up.

Stand pat.

Don't like it. Liriano is showing no ill effects. You could rue the day you gave up Francisco Liriano.

Yeah, if it was a re-draft league .. I think i'd pass. However, since it is a keeper and mauer would likely be a keeper for you ... I think I would do it. Your pitching can survive without Liriano and you are getting the best hitting catcher in the game. The injury is definitley a concern though. Make sure you investigate that fully before you decide to pull the trigger.

Help me out man?

I lean towards doing it ... I'm in a keeper league (deeper though, 22) and Mauer is a ridiculously valuable commodity. Even with his power drop (so far), he's a good 15% better than anyone else in the field (based on our scoring system). If his power starts to come back (and I think it will, though I agree it will not reach last year's numbers) then he's hard to pass up.

I feel like you can definitely replace Liriano in the redraft, with only 6 keepers, whereas Mauer is irreplaceable. I do like Bruce (got him in my league) but he's still figuring out how to hit above .260.

Help with mine?

As everyone else has said, I say go ahead with it %100. Mauer is and will continue to be an elite catcher for as long as your keeper league will go. He's much more proven in my opinion then what you will get with either Bruce or Liriano. So I say go for it.
