Beckett, Burnett for CarGon and Torri Hunter ... WHIR!

Postby Tony Micelli » Mon May 03, 2010 8:04 am

10 man, H2H. Very Deep rosters.

Stats-Innings pitched, Wins, Complete games, Shutouts, saves, K's, ERA, WHIP, K/9, Quality starts, Holds

Hitters stats - runs, hits, doubles, triples, HR's, RBI's, Stolen Bases, Total Bases, AVG, OPS, Extra Base Hits

The Deal is MY Beckett, AJ Burnett, and Andruw Jones for HIS Carlos Gonzalez and Torri Hunter.

Would you do this? I think my pitching staff is very strong, and I've had a lot of injuries like losing N. Cruz and Granderson ... so I could really use some offensive help. I threw in Andruw Jones, because I dont think he can keep it up, and I'd like to free up a roster spot, so I can add a pitcher on FA.
Based on my scoring Categories ... would you do this?? Should I pull the Trigger?

My Pitchers - Dan Haren, Jered Weaver, Max Scherzer, David Price, Clayton Kershaw, CC Sabathia, A.J. Burnett, Josh Beckett, Francisco Liriano, Brad penny, Wade Davis
RP: Kevin Gregg, Joba Chamberlain (SP)

With your stats, bats are more valuable so I may be tempted to do this.

What does the rest of your roster look like? Will these guys be starting once Cruz and Granderson come back?

thanks for mine. i thin your P staff can hold up if you make this deal. gonzalez & torii are great fill-ins for cruz/granderson and when everyone's back healthy, you can deal again if you need pitching.

I would certainly try to get C.Gonzalez, but I'm not that high on Hunter. Maybe offer AJ + Jones for CarGo and see if he takes it. Yes, you can afford to do the trade if you really want to, your pitching can hold up, however, once Granderson and Cruz come back, you are going to have a crowded OF. I'd say definitely try for Gonzalez, but I don't see that you need both. Thanks for the help on mine.

I'd do the deal seeing as you have more batting stats than pitching. Plus you can always trade for pitching later on in the season.

a little help on mine?

Your pitching is extremely deep so I like this. Torii Hunter is nice, but I love CarGo and he has been a beast so far. If this a keeper format, I like it even more.

I like this deal for you. Cargo is solid, and Torri Hunter is one of the most underrated players in fantasy or real baseball. Make the deal.

Thanks for the help on mine.

Given your teams need for bats, I'd do it. CarGo is a risk, but I like his upside. Hunter is $$ in the bank

Like almost everyone else, your pitching staff is definately deep enough to survive and missing cruz and granderson u would need replacements and cargo and hunter are very good replacements. If I was you I would do this trade. Thanks for helping mine
