Pujols up in my league

Postby Dimethod » Sun May 02, 2010 9:29 pm

Im in a 12 team standard keeper league.

He wants Offense in return. Basically a 1 for 2.

Is there anything I might be able to make an offer with? I need offense also, so not sure it's a good thing for me to undertake. What do you think?

My Roster:
Brian McCann
Mark Teixeira
Rickie Weeks
David Wright
Alexei Ramírez
Justin Upton
Chris Young
B.J. Upton
Michael Bourn
Álex González
Cameron Maybin
Franklin Gutiérrez
Gordon Beckham
Michael Stanton
Carlos Beltrán

It's going to cost you either Wright or Rodriguez, at the very least.

I don't think you have anyone else he'd take in a 2-1. I'd try packaging 3-1

You could start out with Tex/Wright for Pujols.

You could start with Tex and Upton. Anything more than that seems like too much to me.
League Setup:
13 Team Points League
6 Hitters 3 Pitchers (Positions don't matter)
1B = 1, 2B = 2, 3B = 3, HR = 4, RBI = 1
Win = 12, Save = 5

I think this may be a case of a bad fit. I also do not think, in a twelve team league, you are struggling that bad. ALSO, almost as important, who can you pick up to replace the players? Really you're trading Upton+ Tex for Pujols + WW. If it's Juan Pierre that's different then Colby Rasmus and that's different from Young JR. How deep is the WW?

Considering the league size and roster construction and apparently deep benches, I have to assume it's pretty shallow. In that case, I think Tex plus any major other player just isn't worth it. He's already through his worst month and from here on out I'm not sure how huge the difference between him and Pujols is?
