Trade Decisions - WHIR

Postby wrothdawg » Sun May 02, 2010 5:44 am

12 Team 7x7 h2h 5 keeper league. Our categories are AVG, R, HR, RBI, SB, OBP, SLG & W, QS, K, BB, WHIP, ERA, S. I get Youk and Kershaw, i give Fielder and Scherzer. Here's my team:

C - Olivo
1B - Fielder
2B - Prado
3B - Ramirez
SS - Escobar
LF - Dunn
CF - Bourn
RF - Choo
OF - Bruce
UTL - Butler
BN - Pence
BN - B Roberts
DL - Montero

SP - Haren
SP - Josh Johnson
RP - Cordero
RP - Lindstrom
P - Garza
P - Peavy
BN - Scherzer
BN - Lilly
BN - Marcum
BN - Matusz

Do I do this deal or not? If I do the deal, I have it lined up with another owner to flip Ramirez for Zorbist to fill my SS. The question I have in the back of my mind is am I not getting enough for Fielder? Leave a link if you want help.

Prince Fielder is one of the finest in game and I don't think you should trade him for Youk (who seems a little bit out of form).
Fielder is a temporary slow starter but will have solid numbers.

Keep Fielder he is a solid keeper to have. I know the upside of Kershaw is tempting but you gotta go with previous production.

Yup stay put. I was thinking the exact same thing as the guy above. Fielder always starts slow and at the end of the year still has 40+ bombs. Good luck!

Well IMO its closer than others are saying... Youk is a great player I think he will start to heat up with the rest of the Red Sox.

But I still think that the difference between Prince and Youk is greater than that between Kershaw and Scherzer, so stay put.

So I probably won't do this deal. I was talking to the same owner about Fielder for Youk and Markakis. At worst I should break even in this trade, right?

Don't trade Prince Fielder no matter what.

This isn't a bad deal for this year and will help you out, but long term you will miss Fielder.
League Setup:
13 Team Points League
6 Hitters 3 Pitchers (Positions don't matter)
1B = 1, 2B = 2, 3B = 3, HR = 4, RBI = 1
Win = 12, Save = 5

Or instead of Youk, what if I asked for Kung-Fu Panda/Markakis? His team:

C - Soto
1B - Youk
2B - Cano
3B - Sanodval
SS - Tulo
LF - Quentin
RF - Markakis
CF - Rasmus
OF - Lind
UTL - A Jackson
BN - Francour
BN - Ike Davis
BN - G Jones

SP - Hanson
SP - Kershaw
RP - Valverde
RP - Bailey
P - Jurrjens
P - Wolf
P - Porcello
BN - W Davis
BN - Everland
BN - Esmil Rodgers
DL - JA Happ

Who would you ask for in exchange for Fielder?
