Defending League Champ.... any chance this year???

Postby lbbaseball14 » Sat May 01, 2010 7:33 pm

I am currently in 9th out of 12 teams and am in dead last in ERA, WHIP, and WINS thanks to Mat Latos and and Josh Beckett.

I just made the following trade:

I gave: Ryan Howard, Josh Beckett, and Franklin Morales
I got: Andre Ethier, Joey Votto, Tommy Hanson, and Billy Wagner

The league is a 12 Team roto league with the standard 5x5 categories.... R, HR, RBI, SB, AVG and W, K, SV, ERA, and WHIP

Heres my roster

C Geovany Soto
1B Joey Votto
2B Robinson Cano
SS Stephen Drew
3B Kevin Youkilis
IF Billy Butler
OF Justin Upton
OF Jay Bruce
OF Andre Ethier
Util Gordon Beckham
Util Carlos Quentin
BN Rajai Davis
BN Dexter Fowler
BN Adam LaRoche

SP Cole Hamels
SP Tommy Hanson
SP Roy Oswalt
SP Hiroki Kuroda
RP Leo Nunez
RP Billy Wagner
P Brad Lidge
P Ervin Santana
BN Carl Pavano
BN Stephen Strasburg

What do you guys suggest that I do?? WIll my team come around or should I make a move for a pitcher?? and who should I try to deal??

Thanks in advance and I will help you out too if you post a link.

I like the trade. I'm actually sizing up a similar trade with my Howard and his Votto as the centerpieces.

That being said, you might have to make another move for a pitcher. I hardly ever give this advice, since pitching can be found on the WW throughout the season, but I don't see anyone on your staff that has the potential to be an ace this year (I don't think Hanson has it quite yet, and I too was bullish on Hamels this year but I just don't think he's going to be a legit ace again). You could spare an OF now that you've got Eithier, so maybe try that route.

Thanks for the help with mine.
