Tonight was second quality start in a row. Does anyone know if his velocity picked up?

According to this, he's actually throwing less fastballs. Doesn't have today's game, though.

He's throwing...

1. Changeups
2. Two-seamers (new pitch)
3. Four-seamers
4. Sliders

His two-seamer is averaging 89.7 mph.

I don't believe in Jinxes... But he did give up a hit after one out in the 7th... Oh well

Don't drop Lilly for Olsen. Lilly plays for a better team, more wins, right?

I'd drop Braden for him. I like NL pitchers much better

Any other thoughts about Olsen? After two crappy outings to start the year, he's been pretty terrific. I'm very tempted to drop Matusz for him. Except for yesterday, Matusz hasn't been AWFUL, but I'm concerned about his lack of Ks...

To answer an earlier question.. Olsen's ~89.5 MPH fastball is about 2 MPH higher than his average the last few years. Also, as somebody else mentioned, he is only throwing his fastball ~40% of the time and throwing a ton of change ups. K-rate up, Walk-rate down... I'm tempted to bite.

And it's not just that he's throwing other pitches more...

When he does throw his fastball,he's mixing in a two-seamer he never had before.
