Is this Cargo-Liriano Deal a No-Brainer? WHIR

Postby sigriffey » Fri Apr 30, 2010 11:17 am

Is this a deal I should obviously do? Or should I hang onto Liriano and try to deal Lilly & Garcia for Bruce?

This deal:
I give Liriano and Borbon
I get Cain and Carlos Gonzalez

OR

Other deal:
I give Lilly and Jaime Garcia
I get Jay Bruce and Wade Davis

First, I would like to say that that is one great team. You could easily afford to lose Liriano. Cain is no bum either. I would do that. Cargo is hitting like a stud this year.

IMO Getting Cargo and Cain would be better than getting Bruce and Davis. Giving up Liriano and Borbon is better than giving up Lilly and Garcia.

I wouldn't trade Gracia for Scherzer. IMO The Liriano- Borbon offer would be the way to go. I always try and be cautious about NL pitchers going to AL in their first year.
