Any Cause for Hope? WHIR

My team has been absolutely abysmal so far. I'm in last place in a 12 teamer, 8 points behind #11. My team is hitting .247, and (obviously) I'm toward the very bottom in all categories (except Ks and SV, and I'm in the middle of the pack in HR). I'm not used to struggling this badly. I've won my last two $$ Leagues, and honestly, both of them were somewhat more competitive than this one.

I'm trying to figure out if there's any reason for hope, or if I should try to make some desperation moves already. Here are the only good things: I'm 3rd in Ks, but both teams ahead of me have way more innings accumulated than I do, so if things keep going the way they are I'll win there. My pitching has actually been pretty good in general, I'm just suffering in ERA and WHIP mainly from Gavin Floyd's blowups and obviously Dotel's. But I've been happy with Kershaw, Nolasco, Dempster and Hughes. I haven't had my 2nd round pick Ian Kinsler all year, but he should be back this weekend. That's about it.

I'd wait to see how Kinsler does once he gets back and then try to unload one of your big name guys for someone who hits for a high average. Maybe search for some guys on the free agent market who are hot right now and hope they keep it going. Otherwise I think your team will turn it around sometime soon.

You've got a bunch of typically low avg guys so don't expect much in that category all season. The only thing you can do is possibly trade a Howard or Kinsler but then you don't have much power either. Be patient, it's still April and you have some guys that can turn it around.

Here's an idea. Like I mentioned, it's not the most competitive league ever. I think I can scoop up potential closers before anybody else. Should I try to deal Soriano or Lindstrom (was recently offered Bartlett for Lindstrom) for help elsewhere?

I am not a fan of Bartlett I don't think I would make that deal.... You have a lot of slow starters and I would wait for Alexi to come around. It helps that you are getting Kinsler out but hopefully this injury with Granderson is not serious. Nelson Cruz will be back soon and I like Nolasco to have a big year, I would wait it out and stay put because I like your team a lot.
