I give up:
Jason Bartlett
Shane Victorino
Daisuke Matsuzaka
I get:
Ryan Theriot
Josh Willingham
Ted Lilly
Right now Theriot/Willingham are outperforming Bartlett/Victorino. I pick up SB and average and lose a little in runs and RBIs with HR being a wash with none of them doing great....will that keep up? Also, when Rollins comes back, Victorino will slide down in the order and will have less SB chances, but more RBI chances and SB is one of the few offensive categories I feel good about, especially when Roberts comes off the DL.
Is getting rid of Daisuke for Lilly a good move? Lilly is solid but not spectacular, but I know what I would be getting. Daisuke can be spectacular but he hasn't pitched effectively since 2008 and I have no idea if he will get back to form, despite his impressive rehab starts.
Overall my pitching is strong, so it might be worth taking the risk and keeping Daisuke. And Lilly will be my 3rd Cub pitcher (does that even matter?)...What do you think?
Thanks for the input.
