Right now my 2nd basemen are b. roberts (DL) and Orlando Hudson
My Pitching is:
Kershaw, Hanson, Sanchez, Garcia, Garza, Billingsly, Burnett, J.A. Happ, Jon Rauch, Joe Nathan, Jorge Del la Rosa, S. Baker
He has 3 2b's and told me Zoborist was untouchable
Zoborist, Weeks, Kendrick
But his pitching is weak
He has W. Rodriguez, R. Oswalt, M. Shrezer, T. Lily, A. Bailey, M. Thornton, U. Jimenez, C. Silva, J. Neiman, F. Francisco
Is this a good trade? for both of us, or is one team getting the better of the deal? This seemed very fair to me, both players are young and bills had a decent year last yaer, while weeks has been unjury prone in the past.
Should i just keep bills and use orlando till roberts comes back, and is this trade good to go now? or do you think people will Veto because 1 of us is getting the better deal?
This is a toss up to me; I would lean towards keeping Bills and shopping him elsewhere personally; if Weeks stays healthy he will be worth it. So I guess to me thats what it comes down to; if you like to gamble a bit, pull the trigger and get Weeks, otherwise move on.
I agree w/ the previous poster, however, Billingsley comes with his fair share of question marks as well. He had an AWFUL 2nd half last year and, while i think he'll be BETTER this year, i still think his value is highest right now. I think you should probably be able to get more for Billingsley, but the other managers in your league may not have as good a match as this manager does with his lack of SP and stash of 2B.
Too bad he's not sellin on Zobrist, that would be a steal. But Weeks is $$, if he can stay healthy.
If it were me, i'd gamble, as you certainly have the pitching to make up for the loss. Injuries happen...it's not like this guy is Chipper Jones or anything. He's still pretty young (28) and the injuries he's had have been more of a factor of misfortune than old age/being underprepared.
Alot of people have him to break out this year. Bills..well... IF he does well, then that's ok, you gotta give to get. But IMO, you're giving up the player with the lowest upside for a very glaring need.
One caveat i would put on this is i would try to shop Bills for a better 2B before pulling the trigger on this.
I wouldnt do it but, then again, I'm usually more cautious when it comes to trading. If Weeks can stay healthy (kinda a big if considering he's never played more than 130 games in a season) it would be worth it. I'd consider offering a better pitcher (Burnett maybe) and see what you can get. Your staff is very good.
