Peavy or Kazmir

Postby KHowe » Fri Apr 30, 2010 7:27 am

I have Scott Kazmir, Jake Peavy just showed up on the WW. Worth the drop for Peavy?
Both have comparable 7.xx ERAs at the moment.

I just had the same situation in my league and I dumped Kazmir for Peavy (who had cleared).

They will both pitch better, but I think Peavy has slightly more upside just because his stuff is better once he gets himself straightened out. Plus he's less of an injury risk than Kazmir is.

I wouldn't expect the SD Peavy, but I think his numbers going forward will be descent - I'm thinking mid 3's ERA with a K rate at about 9 per 9 and 10-15 wins.
