Nobody thought Peavy would replicate his stats from the good ol Petco days, but nobody beleived he would get off to such an awful start in the AL either. I feel theres a good chance that he gets out of his awful rut soon and while he wont continue to stuggle this badly, the question is, when and how dramatically will he turn his game around?
I have de la Rosa on the DL in my H2H league and i picked up correia to replace him shorterm. However, Peavy was dropped and im considering picking him up for week 5... So who do you like better?
both wil have 2 starts in week 5 which is a huge bonus in my leagues format.
***EDIT*** Clay Buchholz is also available and also has 2 starts next week (altho against good lineups).
Correia: vs Col and @Houston
Peavy: vs KC and vs Tor
***EDIT***
Buchholz: vs LAA and vs NYY
10 team H2H league.

SP Matt Garza (TB - SP)

I avoided Peavy in all drafts this season but Id take him over the alternative. He had a rough first inning but he did settle in well. Id look for him to continue to improve.

but will Peavy improve enough to become more valuable than correia (and petco)?
Keep in mind this is for only ~ 4 weeks until DLR returns... unless he just catches fire and matuz or marcum implode

UPDATE:
Clay Bucholz is also available and probably has greater upside than either of the other 2 options.
He also has 2 starts next week:
vs LAA
vs NYY
so how do you rank them now?

In regular a Rotisserie it would be safe to take Peavy and let him ride the pine until he tries and work out his problems. But in a H2H league he has been a drain. You have solid pitching why take the chance? Correia has only given up 4 er in 2 starts both away and won 1. Been dead on at Petco. I would stick with Correia, since you are planning on dropping him when dlR returns.
Based on next weeks starts only.
Correia
Buchholz
Peavy stay away since you only want him for 4 wks.

thanks dragonz, thats what i was looking for.
as a side note... how would you rank Matusz vs that group pf pitchers for H2H?
hes shown an ability throughout boht his minor leaugue and brief major league career a high strikeout guy and averages jsut over 1K/ip (altho his last 2 starts didnt reflect it). but he ptiches for a terrible team and id be surprised to see him break into double digit wins on the year. Also his era is a little suspect but i think that will improve as the season goes along...
what do you think?
