Duchscherer

Leaves the game in the bottom of the 4th against Toronto. Looks like his hip again. Winced in pain and limped after a pitch. They let him pitch a few more and he kept limping after the pitches. Not good. :-o :~(

Ahhhh and the Glassman returns. So glad I didn't draft him, even late, hoping for a bounce back.

The latest:

The A's confirmed Thursday evening that Justin Duchscherer exited prematurely from his start with a left hip injury.

Duchscherer attempted to waive trainers off before manager Bob Geren greeted him on the mound and lifted him from the start, so there's a chance that this was all precautionary. The right-hander was off to a decent start this year and will hope to avoid the 15-day disabled list.

My odds that Duch misses the DL, slim to none.

A's reporter Susan Slusser said via twitter that the "hip problem feels identical to the one he had with other hip, which required two surgeries." :-t

It's about time. Finally put on the DL today. I wouldn't be surprised if he was done for the year.

How many more times are people going to buy into this guy? Seriously the "Mr. Glassman" isn't a nickname is the truth.

Also I think I agree that this may be the begining of the end. I mean hes already had 2 surgeries on his hips as is, and cortizone shots are just going to cover up whats wrong with them, not fix the problem.

Nice try Duke. Left the game before he even got in it. Couldn't even finish warming up in the bullpen. Stick a fork in him.

crazy. I picked him up off FA (10 team league) w/ the hope of using him for a few weeks. I guess I'll gamble on somebody else (Sheets, Myers... probably just spot start for a while).

Preliminary reports on Justin from Rotowire:

LINK
May 17 While Duchscherer (hip) doesn't yet have an appointment scheduled with his hip specialist, he anticipates that he'll need surgery and will be out for the season, the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Recommendation: Obviously don't cut him just yet until the diagnosis is confirmed, but the signs aren't good.
