I really want to cut ties with...

Postby gridiron469 » Wed Apr 28, 2010 10:29 pm

Edwin Jackson and Trevor Hoffman!! I know it's still early in the season, but both of them have getting destroyed. I'm definitely set on getting rid up Jackson because he's just terrible!! As for Hoffman, I'm a little more hesitant even though it seems like he can't keep the ball in the park and blew another save again tonight.

What two guys should I pick up off waivers? All thoughts and suggestions appreciated!!

I will respond back to your posts... just leave your links!!

You could drop Jackson and pick up Garcia or Duch. I think that would help your pitching. I'd wait on Hoffman but keep your ears to the ground if he doesn't pull it together.

good luck

normally i would give jackson some time, but given the players available in your league, i'd drop him. i'd also drop hoffman as well as i think he's not as valuable as he might have been last year.

i'd pick up bucholz (on boston so he should get run support and has a great closer to help secure games, pitching well as of late) and CJ wilson (i have this guy on my team and i love him. very underrated, but i'd start him in good matchups only).

How big is your league? What type of league is it? What categories? Based solely on your team, you need to just compare players straight up. Out of that group on the WW, i like Rasmus, Headley, Konerko, Garcia and possibly Buchholz. You could probably drop Edwin Jackson, though people around here might be reluctant to say that. I think he lacks control and consistency and this might be a bad year for him. I would hang on to Hoffman for a while. Maybe bench him until he gets back into form. There's no way he's pulled from the closers role in the short term and he has too good a track record to be this bad. If you need to make a move, I say Garcia or Rasmus. Both are good options. You seem to have a gluttony of outfielders, so maybe Garcia is a better option. Hope that helps.

I'd drop Jackson for Garcia. Jackson sucks and Garcia could be a nice addition to your already strong staff. Keep Hoffman though.
