Heyward and Vazquez for Holliday? WHIR

Postby Bravos of Steel » Wed Apr 28, 2010 3:07 pm

Hey guys,

I was offered Jason Heyward and Javier Vazquez for Matt Holliday. I'm a Bravo fan and I expect big things from Heyward, but am I giving up too much in Holliday. I'm in a 12 team H2H KEEPER league, 4 keepers, standard scoring. Leave a link guys, and I'll definitely give you my all!

I like Heyward alot as well. That being said, Vazquez really could be this terrible. I think you could get more as you're trading your best keeper. Since you only keep 4, keeping Heyward next year (and yes he'd be top 4 for you) is still a risk. maybe include a lower level pitcher and see if he'll give you an elite pitcher in return? Thank you for the help.

I think your OF will suffer a little, but If Heyward lives up to the hype you will be rewarded in the end. I think Vazquez will be ok after he gets over his mental issues of pitching in a NY uniform. Javier needs a good outing fast or the NY fans are going to turn on him, then he may not recover.

In a redraft NO, in a Keeper YES ;-D

While I really like Heyward...and like him even more in a keeper league, I'd try to get another SP than Vazquez. Holliday is still a top OF and should be for at least the next few years. I'm just not confident in Vazquez to turn it around.

Yup, tell him you'll do the trade if he gives you a better pitcher then Javier. He's trying to unload a guy who has always been a little overrated. So stay put unless he upgrades the pitcher. Good luck!!

Matt Holiday is a top outfielder, and he had a hot start. Not sure if he can keep things up, or he just hit a bump in the road. I love him and Heyward though. Not big on vazquez pitching in NY though, if you get a better pitcher, I would say do it. Because in a keeper, the drop form Matt Hol. is big to Heyward right now.
