Ellsbury for McCutchen/Carlos Santana

Postby AzzurriDawg4 » Tue Apr 27, 2010 2:14 pm

I would be trading Ellsbury to acquire McCutchen.

I play in a 16 team points league H2H. Points are 1B-1, 2B-2, 3B-3, HR-4, SB-2, K-(-1), CS(-1), BB-1.

Rest of my hitters:
C- Doumit
1B - Votto
2b - Pedroia
SS - Drew
3B - Zimmerman
OF(3) - Kemp/Ellsbury (DL)/Bruce
UT(2) - F. Gutierrez, Rolen
Bench - R. Davis, G. Sanchez, Snider

I broke it down and McCutchen averaged 1.25 points per AB last season and Jacoby’s monster season only netted 1.18 points per AB.

Of course you also have Ellsbury’s injury status.

I am thinking McCutchen can come very close to Ellsbury’s point production or even outscore him - am I crazy? Santana is a throw in to hold on to and eventually replace Doumit.

Looks like a good deal to me if he will take it.
League Setup:
13 Team Points League
6 Hitters 3 Pitchers (Positions don't matter)
1B = 1, 2B = 2, 3B = 3, HR = 4, RBI = 1
Win = 12, Save = 5

When Ellsbury is healthy I think he's about the same kind of player that McCuthen is perhaps lacking a bit in power. If you can get this then I'd do it.

Please give me your opinion http://www.fantasybaseballcafe.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=26&t=409562

Ellsbury/McCutchen are pretty even in my book so I would take it because you also get a top hitting prospect like Santana.
