Buster Posey Update..

As per Rotoworld via the S.F. Chronicle

According to the San Francisco Chronicle, Giants officials have discussed the idea of bringing Buster Posey to the big leagues before June.

The Giants can save millions long-term by holding Posey in the minor leagues until early June and preventing him from reaching Super Two status, but they are in desperate need of offense right now on the big league level. Posey, 23, is batting .353 in the Pacific Coast League.

I really don't get too excited about inflated PCL numbers. Look at Brandon Wood. The dude was Babe Ruth in the PCL.

I can see Posey coming up to help with his bat, but I have a problem believing that he'll see too much time behind the plate so long as The Giants are winning. The key to The Giants' success is pitching and to mess with that by changing catchers seems like a foolish move.

I wouldn't be surprised to see more of him at 1B or used off of the bench as a PH. That kind of usage of Posey might help The Giants in the short term, but I think not having Posey start every game at his natural position would hurt him in the long run.
