Too much for Bills?

Postby login » Tue Apr 27, 2010 10:44 am

I got offered Chad Billingsley for my Carlos Beltran/Gordon Beckham.

Injuries are piling up, I have 4 guys on DL and my record is 1-2. I don't think Beltran will be back before June and Beckham is in a slump. I'm trying to move Beltran to free up another DL spot. Am I giving up too much?

I wouldn't do Beckham for Billingsly straight up. If you need pitching, he is not the guy I'd be targetting right now.

nope, its not too much. i would do that deal if the other owner goes for it. beltran really isnt worth much more, and who knows if he's actually going to hit anything in petco east when he comes back. i do like beckham, but his slump might be proving that some were way too high on him in the preseason (e.g. 25/15 might be optimistic)...i would buy low on bills while you can.

help with mine?

I'd do it for Beltran, but not Beckham. Assuming you mean he's asking for one or the other and not both.

Please help. viewtopic.php?f=26&t=409552

You're selling low on both so it's going to be hard too much better for them. I would feel better if you could at least get a Sanchez for them or maybe get Verlander's owner to sell low on him.
League Setup:
13 Team Points League
6 Hitters 3 Pitchers (Positions don't matter)
1B = 1, 2B = 2, 3B = 3, HR = 4, RBI = 1
Win = 12, Save = 5

In your situation, I don't think it's too much for Bills. Where were you playing Beckham before anyway?

I like Beltran alot, but he isn't coming back anytime soon and with some many guys on the DL (especially Bedard and Beltran long Term) I don't know how many weeks you can go into your matchups with such a roster disadvantage.

I think its a legit trade for you.

Does he have another pitcher you can target? I would hate to own Billingsley this year as I traded him last year before his collapse. Don't have any confidence in him anymore, and it seems as the Dodgers don't either. Not that it matters though.

Not sure why you drafted Beckham though if you're just going to sell low on him as you already had Phillips and Wright at 2b and 3b respectively. I'd wait until he gets on a hot streak and sell high rather than selling in the midst of this slump. He's only going to get better.
