It's short for "Habanero," the spicy pepper popular amongst the Mexican French population in Montreal. After the French were kicked out of Mexico by Pizzaro they relocated in Montreal, and brought their love for spicy fajitas with them. Habaneros are as ingrained into the culture of Montreal as the baguette.
This is also why their uniforms prominently feature red - spicy like a chili.
