No doubt he should be able to better their current OF HR production. ;-)

However, it's wrong to simply shrug off the whole striking out a ton of times. He's a really young guy who could get overwhelmed in the majors. It's not the K's that the Marlins are the most worried about but rather the lack of success he might encounter at the major league level. When he has put the bat on the ball in the minors, a lot of good things have happened. Who is to say the times he does make contact in the majors wouldn't be a lot worse? That's the problem with guys w/o solid discipline - major league pitchers will take advantage of your weaknesses. Consequently, it could be likely that he'd struggle then begin to press and then the confidence flies out the window.

24 K's in 55 AB's. Even after his first homer, Stanton was like "finally". Gotta believe his confidence has been shaken and now the threat of pressing is real. I own him in a number of leagues and would love for him to find his stroke, but I admit I'm more than worried about his prospects for meaningful production in std leagues the rest of this year.

I am being offered Mike Stanton for Nick Swisher in a 12 team 8 keeper league (keepers are for 2 more years). I have Domonic Brown. What do you think? Who will be better in 2011?

They'll both have success. Stanton will probably hit 30 HR next year. But you won't see a great average from him.

Brown will probably be a bit higher in the average department, with fewer HRs. He'll also be a part of a more productive offense, so expect more runs and RBIs.

With Stanton's recent success I'd say you win in the near and long term on a Stanton for Swisher deal. Decide on keepers later, you're not keeping Swisher for sure anyway...

Another bomb... I would take Stanton's upside over Swisher any day of the year and its not even close..

Glad to see I was wrong - good start to the month of August: .406/.513/.781 and 7BB's v. 7 K's. ;-D

When I realized I wasn't going to win my league (10 days ago) I traded Matt Kemp for him. Can you say Keeper?
