David Wright Trade WHIR

Postby Kimbos Beard » Mon Apr 26, 2010 7:15 pm

Just got offered this trade:

My David Wright for his Grady Sizemore, Cole Hamels and Magglio Ordonez

I really believe Wright is going to bounce back but this seems like to much value to pass up.

My Team:

C-Doumit
1B- Fielder
2B - Phillips
SS- Alexei Ramirez
3B - Wright
OF - Markakis
OF - Cargo
OF - Bay
Util - Sandoval

Bench - Nyjer Morgan and Carlos Beltran(DL)

SP - Wainwright, Billingsley, Cain, Pelfrey, Chris Young, Rich Harden, Gavin Floyd
RP - Gregg, Aardsma, Rauch and Capps

I don't think I would do it. I think you're fine at OF now and Hamels isn't that big of an upgrade to your rotation.
League Setup:
13 Team Points League
6 Hitters 3 Pitchers (Positions don't matter)
1B = 1, 2B = 2, 3B = 3, HR = 4, RBI = 1
Win = 12, Save = 5

Could you put Grady at UTIL?

If so, just slide Pablo over to 3B, and you've got yourself a good deal.

Thanks for the help on mine ;-D

You are getting a ton of value... if you could somehow flip one of your excess OFs for a top SS, that would be a great trade for you. But it's going to be a hassle rotating all those OFs. Question, who would you drop for Maggs and Hamels? If it means Nyjer Morgan and Pelfrey, I don't know if I'm doing this trade...

It would probably be Nyjer and either Pelfrey or Harden.

I think it's a ton of value, the more I look at the more it may not fit with my team, especially when Beltran comes back. I am not sure how easy it will be to flip one of My OF'ers in this league for good value.

i do think Wright will get back to his normal numbers, but the potential your getting is more, potentially. what worries me is Sizemore. once first round value himself, but he was a mess last season and hes a mess this season.
Ordonez will return to his pre 2009 numbers. i also think Hamels will improve back to pre 2009 numbers.
my only concern is Sizemore.
the more i think about it im not sure i like it, because its not just the players involved but you have to drop 2.
im thinking no. you could replace Wright at 3B with Sandoval and then use someone else at UT. but if you have both Ordonez and Sizemore in the OF who do you replace from the OF? plus when Beltran comes back, who goes then? if you were getting someone other than 2 OF i would consider it more. having Wright and Sandoval you could use one of them to upgrade a position, maybe SS?
there is alot of potential coming back in the trade mentioned, but im thinking no with your team.

I think I would keep Wright if the top return is Sizemore. Thanks for the advice on mine.

same opinion here - Sizemore isn't injured and is playing like Ortiz...last year was very frustrating but at least you could say "..he was injured...".
It would be nice to know what you did with our advice - so please write a short reply
