Here is a list of 15 SP in the minors that Im watching for my 14 team 6X6 mixed league. Stephen Stausburg and Aroldis Chapman are widely owned in deeper leagues and largely known about by most of the fantasy world, but I listed them anyway; however, there are some other legit arms that Im tracking and wanted the universe's input and thoughts on these guys, as well as their estimated usefulness/impact in deeper mixed leagues in 2010:
(my ranking / current stats) #1. Stephen Strausburg - Washington Nationals, AA 2-0, 0.73 ERA, 0.81 WHIP, 18Ks thru 12 innings pitched.

It's tough to sort thru the fact and fiction of prospect velocity. Imo the 95-97 number was probably his peak number (instead of wehre he was sitting at) and it could have been off an inaccurate gun. But I do think it's safe to say that he was in the 90-92 range so he has lost a little it seems. Maybe he's injured or maybe this is what happens when a prospect moves up to AA and doesn't have good secondary stuff.
Anyone interested in revisiting the bumgarner ranking discussion from this offseason where I was I (and some others) were hesitant to put him in the top 10 until he showed that velocity again (or improvement in secondary stuff).
Chris Tillman really wants to be on this list. His numbers are ugly but it's bad luck. and he's better than many on this list and he'll be up sooner.
Mike Montgomery - KCR - Adv-A 2-0, 1.09 ERA, 0.73 WHIP, 33:4 K:BB, 24.6 IP
There is a solid chance he gets some time in KC late in the season. Not on the same level yet as most of the guys you listed, but should be on a ton of radars heading into next season.
@ neato torpedo / @ fantasyfiend - not so much an injury, just wasnt ready to pitch and did not prep himself well in the off season. Plus, he got married and that was a mistake (i mean distraction in of itself) ; )
@ kab21 - tillman was in the top 10 of this list at start of the season, but he has not looked right at all. hes been wild in the first couple starts and is currently sporting a 1-3, 6.11 ERA in 4 starts to go with 15 Ks, not exactly top line stuff. I think Arrieta gets the call before he does based on what hes done to date.
@ coma - thanks for the words; this type of stuff is even more helpful if it gets some input from others, who know their specific farm systems well. Feel free to add / comment and pass along.
@ wickedsmatt - pretty sure strausburg will be up by end of may/ early june.
@ dmattingly - my only reservation in agreeing with you is what Texas stadium does in the summer when balls fly off bats at an alarming rate. that said, Holland isnt getting a lot of coverage and is sneakily below radar
@ lastingsgriller - par for the course.
@ tavish - totally aware of montgomery. great add - and i like him as more of a 2011 impact as well.
