Pujols Slump -- Physical problem or Big Mac problem?

Is McGwire screwing up Pujols' approach to hitting, is it just a slump, or should we be worried that Pujols lack of production and increase in K's are symptomatic of a physical issue?

i.e, should we be peddling him for Hanley or Prince anytime soon?

What slump? He does seem to be K's more than usually but he still been hitting a ton.

Seriously? It's Pujols. Do you actually think he'd change his approach at the plate because they hired a new hitting coach? I am pretty sure he's figured out the right formula to hit......I don't really think he needs the assistance of any coach, let alone a brand new hitting coach.

For a guy of his remarkable consistency over the years, it is odd to see him swing and miss as much. Someone posted on this a week ago and people said he was crazy but now more stories noting the observation. 1 rbi in his last 9 games.

Maybe no reason to panic, but given his elbow surgery and whatnot, you always have to be a little cautious with any warning signs.

he did this a few years ago during the first or second month then exploded and made up for it. There were cliff jumpers then, too, who probably regretting moving him.

And, no, McGwire isn't having any effect on Pujols. I think I read McGwire has gone as far as to say he's pretty hands off with Albert unless Albert asks for help.

A little bump in the road. ALL hitters slump at one time or another.

Albert will be fine. Don't own him this year. Had him last year and his first 3 years in the league.

Plug and play and nothing McGwire could do would hurt Albert. In fact, I'm sure he just stays away.

right, so since this thread was started Pujols is 9/13 with 4 runs, 3 RBI, and a SB through the 5th inning tonight. Just missed a homer yesterday.
