a guy in my league NEEDS SP, and I have a fair amount of good SP, what do you think of this offer:
I give: Hamels & Grady Sizemore I get: Kemp
is this a good trade for me or am I giving up too much?
here' my roster:
12-team 6x6 H2H Yahoo! NON-KEEPER league (includes HOLDS) c: Doumit 1b: Miguel Cabrera 2b: Cano ss: Stephen Drew 3b: David Wright IF: Kelly Johnson OF: Sizemore, Granderson, BJ upton Utl: Carlos Gonzalez BN: E. Cabrera, Heyward SP: Hamels, Nolasco, James Shields, Scherzer, J. Sanchez, Buchholz, Slowey RP: Bell, Neftali Feliz, Rodney, Frasor, Joba DL: Wood, Mike Gonzalez
His roster: C Rod Barajas 1B Ryan Howard 2B Dan Uggla 3B Gordon Beckham SS Derek Jeter IF Chipper Jones OF Matt Kemp, Josh Willingham, Nelson Cruz UTL Paul Konerko SP: Bronson Arroyo, Carlos Zambrano, Jake Peavy, Barry Zito, Matt Cain, Gio González RP: Bobby Jenks, Matt Capps, Ryan Madson BN: Jay Bruce, Luis Castillo, Adam Jones, Austin Jackson DL: Miguel Montero, Michael Wuertz Stat categories: Hitters: R, HR, RBI, SB, BA, OPS Pitchers: W, SV, K, ERA, WHIP, HOLDS
I personally think you would be giving up too much but I happen to be a little higher on SIzemore than your avg fantasy fan. But, I do think Hamels is too good not to turn it around eventually. DOn't get me wrong, I love Kemp but think its a little much to give up in my opinion.
I think it's a fair deal, but you'd really be selling low on two very good players. A few weeks from now, it might not look so great. I'd say that it comes down to the last 6X6 category: is it OBP, OPS, or something else? If it's OPS or something that really tailors to Kemp's skill-set, then go with it. If it's OBP, I might actually pass. I love Kemp, but there's one category in which he still isn't elite, and that's OBP. He's walking more, which is a scary sign for NL West pitchers and portends well for his future, but Sizemore will probably best him in OBP even if he hits .270. This may sound dumb given that Kemp's is at .386 right now, but the fact that it's propped up by a high BA and his track record is as more of a free swinger at least make for a more interesting analysis. Either way, good luck!

the stat cat's are listed under the rosters with the 6th cat being OPS.
