Pierre is probably the safer pickup because he
1. Leads off
2. Is not being platoooned
much unlike Gardner. However, I do think Gardner will stick all year (my opinion) and he is definitely in a better lineup, so he'll still be a source of runs. Jeter will be able to knock Gardner in a lot more than anyone on the White Sox will (I think Pierre is leading off and Beckham is batting 2nd atm. Beckham has been pretty bad so far this year).
Short term and safer bet I'd say Pierre. Long term I'd say Gardner, but his platoon definitely hurts his value. Keep tabs on Gardner and see if Thames is still competing for playing time (Thames is playing primarily vs Left Handers atm. He is also destroying them so not a good sign for Gardner owners). If not then pick him up! He doesn't have power to hit the ball past a single so he will DEFINITELY being stealing a lot.
Please take a look at my lineup!viewtopic.php?t=409006
