Currently have Ike Davis and just heard Smoak is getting called up in TEX. Who will put up better fantasy numbers this year? WHIR

I've got the exact same question. I just dropped Ike to pick up Smoak, because I've heard Smoak is a bit more polished and more of a BA/power guy whereas Ike has a low contact rate. I'd love to keep them both, but from what I've researched in a short amount of time tonight, if you're in a squeeze it seems like Smoak is the guy to go with.

What I wonder is where will Smoak bat in the line-up and will he play pretty much everyday? Ike is in a weaker line-up but is batting 6th & playing everyday.

Looking for some official word from people who pay more attention to prospects.

Ron Shandler had this to say of Smoak in the 2010 Baseball Forecaster (there was no write-up on Davis):

"Smoak has one of the best approaches of all minor league prospects. He understands the strike zone innately and knows which pitches he can drive. He hit .290/.410/.443 with 21 doubles and 12 HR between AA and AAA. The switch-hitter projects as a high BA batter with excellent power and above-average defense."

Smoak. Some questions about his power, but plate discipline is always nice in a hitter, even in fantasy, and Smoak's lineup and ballpark should be better.

Even as a Mets fan I'm going to say Smoak. Davis has looked good and has great discipline, but who knows how long he will be in the lineup. Also that lineup is so shaky

I would rather have Smoak seems like a more polished hitter.
