I am wondering how far David Ortiz has fallen. Is it worth even considering dropping him for the Blue Jays new leadoff hitter?

Lucky you- I'm a Giants fan, and I will miss F-Lew.
Fred Lewis is an on-base machine, but not a whole lot more than that. He isn't always the smartest base-runner, despite his speed, and he has middling power. He does cover a lot of range in the outfield. I think he might be worth more than Big Papi, but only if he figures to get a lot of AB (not sure how the Blue Jays plan to use him).
He hit for the cycle once, and had a grand slam another time. Many of us had high hopes for him.

I think its too early to dump on Ortiz, HOWEVER if he starts sitting on the pine more, as they move V-Mart to DH? then you might have to think about it.
I like Fred Lewis, but is there any other "better" Options on the wire???? give it a couple more weeks, I dont see Papi falling off the face of the earth this soon.

It's been two weeks since the last post, but I still agree with Bucco's take. Probably still too early to cut Big Puppy.
Fred Lewis is worth watching right now. There is more than likely another better option on your waivers, but he might find a home playing for the Jays. He's got loads of potential.

I would dump Papi for anyone at this point.
