This is ridiculous. I can't see this lasting, so I'm holding on to him for now. As others have said, beyond Opening Day (when he always pitches terribly), he's been fine this year. Also, I'm sure that Pinella was considering Big Z's ability to let things go and move on in making this decision. Everyone knows that Zambrano is one of the best in the game at getting past a big inning.

Nice one
As a Dempster owner I would have been apoplectic if Dempster was the one that was moved.

Maybe there is some injury or stamina thing that we're not being told, so I wouldn't want to be paying much.
(I wouldn't pay a whole lot for that piece of garbage if he was 100%)

all the other things aside, wouldnt this be terrible for his arm? is he not used to throwing well over 100 pitches a start (warm-up throws included) and now has to possibly be shell shocked into throwing in back to back games and getting up to warm up? after a couple weeks, im sure he'll start to get used to this, and then he gets shifted back into the rotation, right? im so confused.
They would have been better off moving him to the outfield.

Wow on all counts! I was not a huge Z fan for fantasy so I didn't even make booster bids @ the auction but this is mystifying. I wonder if they are thinking of making him the closer after he gets in shape to switch to relief? Wood did ok making that move, albeit for different reasons? I can't imagine that you would not want that kind of money in the highest leverage situation you can get him into? Oh wait...it's the Cubs...
