Even in his meltdown opener, Zambrano pitched pretty well - balls were finding holes. I really don't understand why you would take arguably (they would argue this, since he was the opening day starter) your best starting pitcher and make him a reliever. Typically, you take your WORST starting pitcher and put him in the bullpen. That would be Silva. You'd also think they've got guys who can get outs in Iowa. Doesn't say much for their minor league depth.

Hideously stupid, I wonder how long it lasts though. Maybe they'll consider a 6 man rotation if they're this enamored with their SP options?

I would rather have an empty roster spot on my fantasy team than start Carlos Silva.

Z was my #3 starter, so I need to replace him. He'd been solid cept for that first game. Pelfrey is on the WW, would he be a better pickup?

Absolutely get Pelffrey.
As for Z this makes no sense to me and blows my mind.
Last start: 6ip, 2er, 9k's and then he gets moved to the pen?

The only thing that would make sense is some sort of fatigue or injury that has arisen. Paying a guy that much to be a setup man, when he's arguably your best starter, makes absolutely no sense. Cubs fans won't accept this decision, will they? I imagine it'll cause quite a backlash.

If Zambrano is fully fit, I don't understand the thought process of someone who comes up with this decision. :-S

Is Hendry making a late bid to enter "the contest"?
He better hurry up, Omar is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay out ahead. ;-7
