Drop Rick Porcello for Jaime Garcia in Keeper League? WHIR

Postby Leiter Fan » Wed Apr 21, 2010 1:43 pm

I play in a 6x6, H 2 H daily transaction keeper league that counts OPS and holds, and which has individualized outfield positions. I have Rick Porcello as one of my starters, and have been very unimpressed so far. Meanwhile, Garcia has looked great. Would you guys make this move? Or if you wouldn't drop Porcello, is there anyone you would drop for Garcia.

Keep in mind, since this is a holds league, I cannot drop Betancourt, who is my only set-up man. Also, DeRosa is on borrowed time, since I will likely be dropping him tomorrow to activate Hill from the DL.

As always, I'll answer any of yours in return - just post a link.

Here is my current roster:

C: Geovany Soto (C)
1B: Miguel Cabrera (1B)
2B: Asdrubal Cabrera (2B, SS)
3B: Ryan Zimmerman (3B)
SS: Stephen Drew (SS)
LF: Carlos Lee (LF)
CF: Grady Sizemore (CF)
RF: Jason Heyward (RF)
Util: Jay Bruce (RF)
Bench: Nyjer Morgan (LF, CF)
Mark DeRosa (1B, 3B, LF, RF)
DL: Aaron Hill (2B)

SP: Chris Carpenter, Tommy Hanson, Francisco Liriano, Chad Billingsley, Brad Penny, Hiroki Kuroda, Rick Porcello
RP: Mariano Rivera, Joakim Soria, Leo Nunez, Rafael Betancourt
DL: Erik Bedard

Thanks, guys!

For the immediate future I would take Garcia over Porcello. Long term it's harder to say. Also I would take Porcello and Garcia over Bedard long term.

Help? http://www.fantasybaseballcafe.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=408716
League Setup:
13 Team Points League
6 Hitters 3 Pitchers (Positions don't matter)
1B = 1, 2B = 2, 3B = 3, HR = 4, RBI = 1
Win = 12, Save = 5

Bedard is just a DL stash, so he's not hurting anyone there. lol

Thanks for the input. Anyone else have any thoughts on this?

Tough one...but I think I would do it now. Garcia has shown good sign and should be decent. Pocello has struggled but I still think he will have a decent year. The only other player from your roster I might drop it Penny. Not sold on him.

So I would drop Pocello and ad Garcia

Please help.

Thanks, guys. I just made the move.

I guess I'm a Cardinals fan by default now, since I own 60% of their starting rotation! lol
