Sounds like he aggravated it running the bases. I imagine he'll be listed as day to day.

I'm sure you can do better on your league's waiver wire than David Murphy. Just saying.

looks like Cruz is headed to the DL.
i imagine David Murphy is the one thats going to be getting regular playing time now? Murphy is OK to pick up, but i would only use him against RH pitching.

anyone know how long cruz is going to be out for? is this the type of injury that is probably going to linger for months? the owner of cruz in my league is shopping him for a decent pitcher, so trying to see what his timeline is going to be.

As a Cruz owner Im a little worried. Hamstrings are a weird thing and sometimes take a year to be fully back to full health.

From MLB.com:

Outfielder Nelson Cruz hopes to start taking batting practice on Saturday for the first time since being placed on the disabled list Tuesday with a strained right hamstring.

"It's feeling a little better," said Cruz, whose .758 slugging percentage will end up being tied for the second highest for the month of April in club history.

Right now, Cruz has been playing some catch and doing some leg work on both a stationary bicycle and the treadmill.

I share your concern as a Cruz owner. Hamstrings can be really difficult, and while he says it feels okay, he was saying the same thing while he was trying to play through it and eventually couldn't. At the very least, looks like we can kiss that (admittedly long) shot for a 30-30 season goodbye :-/

Good news everyone!

OAKLAND -- Rangers outfielder Nelson Cruz is reporting significant improvement in his strained right hamstring and is hoping to go on a medical rehabilitation assignment later this week or over the weekend.

Cruz has been taking batting practice and working on his defense. On Monday, he tested the muscle with a series of sprints before the Rangers' game with the Oakland Athletics.

"I feel like I'm running about 70 percent," Cruz said. "I still feel it a little bit, but the more I do and the more I get warmed up, the less I feel it. My last couple of sprints, I didn't feel it at all."

He stole three bases, the night after being taken out for his hamstring.
