Morneau and Romero for Fielder

Postby linberg » Tue Apr 20, 2010 10:02 pm

So this could be my year in a competetive keeper league... Great start with most of my prospects panning out nicely. I'm feeling this week is the week to sell high on some of them, but I'm always scared and need re-assurance to pull triggers.

So, I'm giving up Morneau and Romero for Fielder

My team (currently 90.5 points out of possible 100...): 5 OF and MI and CI:

Active Pitchers
Capps, Matt RP WAS
Gregg, Kevin RP TOR
Haren, Dan SP ARI
Sheets, Ben SP OAK
Soriano, Rafael RP TB
Valverde, Jose RP DET
Weaver, Jered SP ANA

Reserve Batters

Reserve Pitchers
Garza, Matt SP TB

Niemann, Jeff SP TB
Romero, Ricky SP TOR
Santana, Ervin SP ANA

PS planning on picking up Dallas Braden with the extra roster spot - so it's really Morneau + Romero for Prince + Braden...

Fantastic deal for you. I like Morneau this year, but if you're going to get Fielder for him there's a very small window of opportunity. Do this and don't look back. Romero will be decent, but he doesn't nearly cover the difference of Morneau and Fielder. Also your team is awesome, almost like you had a magic ball before drafting, seems perfect lol

I'd do that trade right away. If Fielder has a down year, he'll give you Morneau numbers. If he repeats last year, he'll give you 20-25% more points. Worth the Romero with your team setup.

I don't think the upgrade from Morneau to Fielder is all that great but you have to pitching to spare so I would probably do it.
