I just received a proposal for my Jason Bay and Ian Kennedy for his Raul Ibanez and Carlos Zambrano.
I do like Bay WAY better than Ibanez. But my question is does the Zambrano vs. Kennedy upgrade warrant making this deal? Note: my offense has really been struggling so far and my pitching has been great.
Thank you for your help.
My team c. kurt suzuki, 1b. votto, 2b. jose lopez, 3b. aramas ramirez, ss. Rollins (DL), Escobar of. Carlos Lee, Jason Bay, Jay Bruce util: Adam Dunn, Carlos Gomez, Beltre Bench: Pierzenski, Barmes, Reimold SP: Buehrle, Wandy, Billingsley, Brett Anderson, Cueto, Buchholtz, Wade Davis, Ian Kennedy RP: Francisco Rodrigquez, Carlos Marmol
No way. Bay will come around and while Ibanez had a great first half last year what has he done since? .232 Post ASB last season and .171 this season. Those are horrible numbers in over 280AB. I hate Zambrano although he does have more value than Kennedy. I would definitely not do this deal.
I'm not too high on Bay, but I gotta agree on Ibanez. He was ice-cold in the second half of last season, had a slow spring, and that slump has continued into this year. With an old guy like him, that has to flash warning signs that the decline has started. I would be looking to cut bait with Bay myself, but aim higher than Ibanez. Perhaps trade him for a rising OF, like CarGo, would help.

Yeah, lets trade for a soon-to-be 38 year old outfielder who has struggled since the middle of last season. Yeah because Citi was actually 12th in HR's per last season while Citizens was 16th. If you want to argue supporting cast that's a valid point but HR totals are not going to do it. But what do I know about Fantasy baseball.
