Trading on the two names (Billingsley, Wieters) and the early success of Nelson Cruz I'm looking at the following trade.

Billingsley, Wieters, Cruz for Braun, Bruce, Wade Davis

Opinions?

I can obviously afford the pitching loss with Hanson/Kershaw/Matusz/Cain/Nolasco and would be counting on Cruz to cool off significantly. I have the #1 waiver in my league, which I could turn into Jesus Montero, Carlos Santana, or Bryce Drew as a catcher replacement.

Is Braun enough of a big name to give up those 3 players? Any and all analysis would be appreciated, the more detailed the better! :-)

I actually like this trade for you. Braun and bruce would solidify your OF. Also I have a feeling davis and billingsley will have similar stats by years end. Also you can afford losing him. This leaves us with wieters. I like wieters a lot, expecially since this a keeper league. But like you said, you have the #1 waiver priority. Just use that on santana and you will be fine.

I think Billingsley will have a better season than Davis, and a real good catcher is hard to find, but other than that it's a good deal for you. Braun is elite and Bruce should pay off a lot more than Cruz would.

Tough call, as you're left with a hole at catcher. But Braun is a top 5 player in the league, so I'd do it.
