Morneau for Cabrera...WHIR

Postby rasto21585 » Mon Apr 19, 2010 3:06 pm

I am planning to make a trade where I send justin morneau and cole hamels for miguel cabrera and chris coghlan. Do you think this is a good move for me since I am getting the best player in the deal?

it seems fair but I dont think you should take the deal

your pitching staff is going to take a hit. it's already pretty thin

What should I offer up instead? I originally wanted to do bj upton and morneau but upton has been hitting the ball as of late. What would you suggest I offer up then?

Your pitching take a hit with the loss of Hamels, you'd have no solid #2 starter. However if we're concerned at all with whether or not the other manager will take your offer I think including Hamels is important. He is even worse off than you in the SP department and Hamels might help to solve that problem. At the same time you'd be getting rid of a guy that may never return to '08 form. I like this trade for you. I think your pitching is weak otherwise, so giving away a SP is a concern, but with or without Hamels it would still be a problem.

Not worth it. Morneau is more than serviceable. No reason to put yourself in that position

No. Migeul Cabrera is worth both those players, and perhaps a little more.

I have been talking to the miggy owner and he is desperate to add depth to his team. So without trading hamels, what offer should I make?
