This is starting to look nasty for the Sox.

I know this is a hindsight is 20/20 thing, but I just don't think the Red Sox reloaded correctly in the winter. They really needed a big bat, their line up just looks mediocre to me. :-?

8-0 in the 4th inning, and it honestly should be a bit more but Zobrist struck out on a pitch about a foot outside.

I'd say that's about right. Of course injuries to Ellsbury and Cameron don't help, but I wouldn't be surprised if this team ends up closer to a .500 record than they do contending for a playoff spot. It's early and a lot can happen, but they seriously lack an identity right now.

Lackey is a horse etc, but do you think they should have just bit the bullet and traded for Prince or A-Gonz and used the Lackey money to extend them? I do.

I think they should have done whatever it took to sign Halladay instead of overpaying for Lackey.

Lackey with a very Zambrano-esque performance

You mean traded for Halladay (which would have assuredly cost them the hyped Casey Kelly).

I was kind of surprised they decided to sign Lackey as a plan B. He really isn't that good.
