In my 20 team H2H league we count AVG, R, HR, RBI SB and OPS as our offensive categories. One player that I think goes a little undervalued in this format is Todd Helton. Helton is typically viewed as a lower-tier 1st baseman, as his power has diminished to the point where he is no longer a homerun hitter but more of a doubles threat but he has mantained a very good OPS (.904) due to his doubles power and willingness to take walks.
Could it be argued that Helton is still a very viable 1st base option in an OPS league due to his strengths (likely average over .300, OPS near 900) helping offset some of his weaknesses (below average homeruns, mediocre RBI production)? How would you perceive/bump his value in a league counting OPS?
