Drop Alcides Escobar and pick-up Kelly Johnson?

Postby thejusman1 » Fri Apr 16, 2010 7:41 pm

I picked up Alcides to man SS at the start of the season when Kinsler hit the DL, shifting Zobrist to 2B. Now I'm considering cutting bait and grabbing KJ instead. Alcides has been little more than an empty average, and KJ has at least smacked a few dingers. This is a moves limit league, and I'm already at 8/50... my pick-up will be dropped as soon as Kinsler gets back, but that might not be for awhile now :-o

So who do you think is the better player until Kinsler gets back, Alcides or KJ?

thanls for the help with mine

I definitely like KJ more than Alcides. And without the transaction limit, I would definitely make the move. But the real question is whether or not KJ is a big enough improvement to warrent using a transaction.

Since you are in a H2H league, I say go for it. You cant afford to pile up a bunch of losses waiting for kinsler to return. You can be more patient in roto leagues....in H2H leagues you can't erase losses.

Besides, 50 transactions isn't too restrictive. That's probably just about the average number I make per season. Its good since it eliminates streaming, but doesn't total hinder your ability to manage your roster.

I don't think it's a big enough upgrade if even an upgrade especially when you're looking at only 40 or so transactions left. It's a long season, hold onto those transaction spots for when everyone else is spending theirs so early.
