Make any of these moves?

Postby T Long » Fri Apr 16, 2010 2:07 pm

There are a few questions I have right now for my team....

C. (empty)
1B. Adrian Gonzalez
2B. Ben Zobrist
SS. Hanley Rameriz
3B. David Wright
LF. Carlos Lee
CF. BJ Upton
RF. Andre Ethier
OF. Carlos Quentin
Util. Jay Bruce
Util. Garrett Jones
Bench: Howie Kendrick, Alexi Rameriz, Lance Berkman

SP. Yovani Gallardo
SP. Cole Hamels
SP. Matt Cain
RP. Chad Qualls
RP. Frank Francisco
P. Tim Hudson
Bench: Roy Oswalt, Kevin Slowey, Brian Matusz, Ricky Romero, Kevin Millwood, Brid Lidge, Brandon Webb

My catcher spot is empty right now b/c of the Montero injury, I've been trying to trade for a catcher but have not gotten any responses yet, and the best available catchers are Peirzynski and Olivo. I also have one DL spot which I have Webb on.

Should I keep trying to trade for a catcher or just pick one up?
Also Alfonso Soriano was dropped, should I take a chance and pick him up?
And should I stick it out with Frank Fracisco or should I drop him for Jason Frasor, Matt Capps, Octavio Dotel, or Chris Perez.
If i should pick anyone up who should I drop??

I'd try picking up Peirzynski and maybe try trading one of your outfielders for McCann depending on how Peirzynski does. And YES I'd pick up Soriano and Capps or Dotel.

Pick up AJ for your C spot.

As for the last spot, you might be able to drop Qualls or Francisco for Capps and Dotel. Really crappy options all around there though.

1) Pick up a catcher... Olivo's doin well. Trading for C's ends up overvaluing their stats.

2) You COULD take a chance on Soriano, but...I don't drop any of your healthy people for him. I mean, maybe you can get 20/10 out of him...maybe...?

3) I think Capps, Dotel, and Perez shouldn't be on the wire in a competitive league! I'd drop Millwood (those stats ain't gonna last) and grab at least one of them. Francisco MAY get his job back, so either stash him (or keep him active for set-up stats) or drop him too. I think I'd rank the closers there Perez, Dotel, Capps...in terms of how well they pitch.
